Abstract
Poor access to agricultural credit by peasant farmers has been an age long problem posing serious threat to the nation’s food security programme. Hence, the study was aimed at examining the Socio–economic Factors influencing Accessibility to Agricultural Credits among Crop Farmers in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Data were obtained from 65 farmers through structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistic and step wise linear regression model were used to analyze the data. The study revealed that Farmers in the area used multiple sources of credit to aid their production and 20% of the variations in accessibility of farmers to agricultural credits were explained by the nine variables in the model used. It was recommended that among other things, government should make credit facility more effective and available in the study area.
